One year ahead of the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc, let’s celebrate the launch of the countdown to this historic event!
From August 24 to September 5, 2027, Haute-Savoie will host the largest cycling and para-cycling event in history: 20 UCI World Championships across 16 competition venues, bringing together more than 15,000 athletes from around the world over 13 days, from Haute-Savoie to Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
To celebrate J-365, everyone is invited to Sallanches – Pays du Mont-Blanc on Saturday, September 5, for an afternoon dedicated to cycling, sharing and collective energy.
2,027 km, together
From 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Place Charles Albert, in the heart of Sallanches – Pays du Mont-Blanc, will be transformed into a true cycling arena. 20 connected bikes, open to everyone, will be set up for a challenge worthy of the occasion: collectively covering 2,027 km.
Whether you are an experienced cyclist, a casual rider or simply curious, everyone will be able to pedal at their own pace and help move the counter forward. A few hundred metres or several kilometres: every pedal stroke counts.
A fun and spectacular experience to kick off the countdown and pedal together towards 2027!
THE COUNTDOWN IS ON!
At 5:00 p.m., it’s time for the official unveiling of the Tissot countdown clock, in the presence of numerous French athletes and iconic figures from the world of cycling, including Bernard Hinault, ambassador for the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc, as well as Martin Fourcade, Emily Harrop and Thibaut Baronian.

The weekend continues with the HSMB Classic
Following the launch of the countdown to the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc, cycling will once again take center stage on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in Sallanches – Pays du Mont-Blanc, with the inaugural HSMB Classic, a new sportive cycling event celebrating the World Championships.
Nearly 1,000 participants are expected to take on Haute-Savoie’s legendary mountain passes and ride along the iconic roads that will come alive across the region one year from now.
Registration is still open, and places are still available to take part in this inaugural edition!
