Competition Format
Downhill (DHI) is an individual time-trial event in which each rider aims to set the fastest time on a course that is entirely downhill. Speed, commitment and technical precision are the keys to success.
Key features:
- An individual time-trial start;
- A course of approximately 3 km, completed in under 5 minutes;
- Top speeds of up to 80 km/h;
- A course featuring jumps, high-speed sections, roots, rocks and technical corners;
- A full-suspension mountain bike and protective equipment specifically designed for the discipline;
- A two-run competition consisting of qualifying and final runs.
