Pump Track: Speed and Explosive Power Without Pedalling
Pump Track is one of the newest disciplines featured at the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc.
Competitions take place on a closed circuit made up of rollers, banked turns and jumps. Riders generate speed without pedalling, using only body movements and the terrain to maintain momentum.
Originally developed as a training tool for BMX and Mountain Bike riders, Pump Track has since evolved into a discipline in its own right, with its own international competitions organised under the auspices of the Union Cycliste Internationale since 2019.
Competition Format
Pumptrack competitions begin with a qualification phase, during which riders aim to set the fastest possible time.
The fastest riders then advance to a knockout stage, where head-to-head elimination rounds determine who progresses through to the final.

Saint-Pierre-en-Faucigny will host the Pump Track competitions of the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc on a brand-new track designed to create a lasting legacy for the region.
