Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a minimum or maximum age to become a volunteer?
There is a minimum age: you must be 18 years old by January 1, 2027 (born in 2008 or earlier) to become a volunteer. However, there is no maximum age! All applications are welcome, and roles will be adapted to each volunteer’s profile and needs.
Will meals be provided during my assignment?
Yes, we’ve got everything covered! On each day you are volunteering, a full meal will be provided. Arrangements may vary from one site to another, as we aim to work with local partners and adapt to each venue’s existing setup.
Does being a volunteer entitle me to accommodation?
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide accommodation for all volunteers. However, some host cities may offer housing. We are working on this on a case-by-case basis with each city and will share more information in due course.
Does volunteer status include support for public transportation?
This is our goal, and we are actively working on it. We aim to make public transportation free for volunteers, but this does not depend solely on us and is therefore not yet confirmed. One thing is certain: travel expenses by private car will not be covered by the organization.
Can I apply as part of a group (friends, family, etc.)?
Yes, you will be able to indicate this in the full application form in September 2026. In the meantime, all group members can already pre-register.
What skills are required to become a volunteer?
None! We are mainly looking for friendly and energetic volunteers. However, if you have specific skills, you will be able to mention them in the full application form in September 2026—they will most likely be useful during the World Championships.
In addition, you will receive both general training and role-specific training before the event.
Finally, no specific language skills are required—only French or English. Any additional languages will be a bonus.
Can I indicate my preferences for roles and deployment locations?
Yes, of course! These questions will be included in the full application form in September 2026. We will then do our best to offer you a role that matches your preferences.
